I wonder if shooting the Rhino will cure him of a microscopic genitalia affliction from which he most certainly suffers....

I shot two rhino in '04. I'm ok 'down there', and the rhinos were still wandering around afterwards.

Cameras are so much nicer than guns.

Beautiful, massive, gentle. Yemenis like rhino horn for their traditional knives.

Came across a newborn rhino drinking with his mother during last visit to Kruger, last winter. Stunning animals.

I suppose that rather than signing a petition opponents to the hunt could open their wallets and offer to buy out Mr. Knowlton's license. I suspect he'd now be pretty keen on that option.

Wildlife management practices and land use are more often dictated by politics than what a educated biologists would consider to be in the best interest of the species. Emotion often plays into politics. I hate to put a price on a single animal's life, but it seems clear here that the monetary benefits to long-term preservation of the species should not be overlooked, especially when managers apparently agree that elimination of an individual would not harm the population health. It could even be a benefit. And no doubt, that's a great deal of money that would spend well in Africa towards rhino preservation.

My 2nd home South Africa which has by far the largest population of rhinos in the world.  Rhino poaching has reached the point that killing is close to overtaking births. This means extinction in the near future. Figures compiled by the South African Department of Environmental affairs show the dramatic escalation in poaching over recent years, this trade in horn all goes to the far east, predominantly China & Vietnam, where its effectively a legitimate business. During 2014 South Africa had 1215 rhinos killed, that’s one every eight hours.

Texan's with micro genitalia are nothing compared the mega rich respectable far east businessmen who head up this obscenity.
