Blocking NAS from my HDX?

Posted by: sktn77a on 02 April 2015

Evening all:

I have my CD collection ripped to my HDX internal 500GB drives and that's fine.  Unfortunately, I have GBs of other miscellaneous music on my NAS (Western Digital My Cloud ES2) that is being picked up by my HDX and junking up the listings.  I've turned off DLNA on the EX2 and put the music in a non-public folder but it's still showing up on my HDX.

Any thoughts how I can block off the NAS from my HDX while keeping on the rest of my network?

Thanks,

Keith

Download the naim serve app for pc or mac, in maintenance goto shares and turn off the ones that are on. This can be done from the web interface as well.

UPNP has nothing to do with this scenario, its searching the network for music via SMB, thats what makes it so cool!

I have the n-serve app on my iphone but there's no option to do that on the iphone.  I also have the Naim DTC on my PC but I don't see that function there either.  Am I missing something?

You can ignore or activate shares as well as set the scan type (manual/automatic) in

DTC –> Tools -> Music Repositories -> Scannable Network Shares.

n-Serve on the phone won't do it (it has less functionality) -- DTC for Windows or n-Serve for OS X will.

All of that can also be done from the HDX front screen

Well, got the NAS ignored via NAIM DTC and it seems to have cleared all the junk files from the index.

Thanks, all!
