Spotify log in driving me mad

Anybody else have problems logging in to Spotify ?  Have had a Mu-So for a few months and am very happy with it.  Today I thought I would give Spotify a try, and after 2 hours haven't succeeded.  

 

I have set up a new account and entered credit card details for the Premium service, with a 30 day trial period.  I can log in to my account on the the Spotify.com/connect web page and all account details are correct, and the trial period is active. But….. when I enter the same details into the iPhone Spotify app I get a log in error, user or password invalid.

 

Any ideas gratefully received before I just forget the whole idea of premium streaming, too much gaffing about.

I've never had any issues with Spotify login across multiple iOS devices.  So your problem seems unusual.  Try deleting the app and reinstalling is all I can think of to try.

Paul,

 

I too have not had any problem using Spotify. Are you attempting to log directly into th eservice to listen to it on your iPhone, or are you attempting to listen to it on your Naim set-up? If you are attempting to access Spotify over your Naim system, then the normal method of access would be to launch the Spotify app from the Naim app on your iPhone rather that launching the Spotify app directly. At least that's what I do when using spotify through my ND5XS. I also use Spotify via a Windows Spotify desktop app (and Songcast) on my Linn Klimax streamer. I don't recall ever having a single connection problem on either device.

 

Having said this, I am also able to launch Spotify directly via my iPad or on my ND5XS without launching the Naim app.  

 

Are you using your assigned 'User name' or an email address (as your user name) when you attempt to launch Spotify? You will not be able to log in using your email address - you need to use the 'username' you created when you set up the account.

 

If all else fails, then try deleting and uninstalling the app, and contact the Spotify support desk via your Web account.

 

Good luck, and don't give up too quickly. I can assure you that when the service works, it works pretty much flawlessly.

its really weird and driving me mad. I am not trying to use it from the Naim app.  It is the Spotify app which seems to be the problem. I have a username, email address etc., but the Spotify app just won't log in on any device. i can log in to the device, which confirms I have a "premium " account, but just can't get it working.

 

I can't even find any email address for Spotify help, let alone be able to speak to somebody.

Same here. After the factory resetting, time problems, Spotify won't work on the Uniti.

I just can't connect to the unit, all other streaming devices work.

I'm afraid this is just to wooly, what do you mean 'I have a user name, email address etc'

 

You sign in with your username and a password. Have you done this? Are you sure?

 

What do you mean spotify wont log in on your device, do you mean an iphone/tablet of some kind? Or do you mean a unity?

But you said you cannot log in on any device.

Hi Gary,

what I meant was that I could log in to my account using Safari on my MacBook, which confirms I have a premium account, all details correct. But when I try to log in using the spotify app, I enter the correct username and password, but returns with the reply that username and/or password is invalid. Have tried this procedure using the spotify app on three different iOS devices..... to no avail.

 

The eventual goal is to get the Mu so to play spotify, but at present I can't even get past the spotify log in.

 

The spotify Helpdesk have come with some instructions to reset password and delete caches etc.... Will try this and report back.

 

Hardly a great start to streaming..... So I thought I would post it in case others are having problems...
