unitiserve tweak

Running my serve into Ndac by bnc - into amp instead of networking it. Going into the settings options and turning off ripping and auto connection options I have found a little increase in performance akin to shutting down display on a CD player .  Can this be validated as a result of shutting down some systems drawing power from the supply or something other - or am I imagining things.

I would imagine this would not be an option if I was networking the serve.

Interesting.....I only use UPnP at the moment, but it still plays with these settings turned off, so I might have to investigate further. Besides, I've never been able to find out what 'auto connection' is supposed to do, so it might as well stay turned off.

.....Also turning off the Ipad between selecting music seems to me to make a little better difference...

I thought it was Art Garfunkel . . . with a large floppy mustache for some unknown reason.

I'm not sure Paul Simon would take too kindly to being called a large floppy moustache...

He might prefer it to being called a "beard."
