Grrrr - 'rights issues' and BBC Radio 5 live

Posted by: nickpeacock on 13 April 2015

'Rights issues' prevented me from listening to Liverpool v Newcastle on iradio last night. I'm in the UK. Should have got an ND5 with dab module. Any (legit) workarounds?

Same problem with the cricket. I've tried feeding BBC iPlayer into my NDS but that failed. Any other ideas?

It is an issue with web radio. Even with BBC Radio Suffolk living in deepest Suffolk I can't stream Ipswich Town FC matches online, can only be accessed by FM
(There is no DAB for Radio Suffolk either) Simon

Presumably the DAB module can be retro-fitted (although that won't help with this particular match).

For programs available on iPlayer, I send them from iPhone or Mac to my Superuniti via AirPlay/Airport Express/Toslink. It's not Hi-Fi, but works a treat for spoken word stuff. I use it mainly for Radio 4 'listen again', just tried it with Test Match Special and it's playing now.

Hopefully Naim iRadio will soon get all this sorted so it will play straight from the app.

I'm fairly sure that the dab modules are not retro-fittable to ND5 XS or NDX. Not sure why, but I think I have asked Naim.

(I could have listened to dab radio through the TV - d'oh...)

We go through this in the States as well.  I can stream my local "sports-talk" radio station EXCEPT when the Boston Red Sox are playing; then it's off-line and my only option for streaming is to have purchased a subscription from Major League Baseball (the official league).  For audio only it's around $25.00 for the entire season.  But I can listen to it over-the-air for free, which is what I do.

Hi Stephen,

There is a "sticky" at the top of the Streaming page which deals with this - the one posted by Trevor Wilson.
