Macbook trash folder - multiple copies of mail

Posted by: Southweststokie on 14 April 2015

I find that my trash folder is full of multiple copies of mails that I write which appear to be being saved every 30 seconds or so as I am writing the mail even though I am not hitting the save button.

Can anyone explain why this is happening and how I can stop it. When I go to my trash folder I can't find anything because of the endless multiple copies of the same mails at the various stages of being written.

Thanks,

Ken

I have seen this occurring in the Mail application - does not appear in Firebird.

We have seen files being stored in the Archive sub folder.

I suspect that the program is saving the file automatically but not to one copy but for a new copy each time.

I need to dig into this and so I did with a quick Google check this out

I have un-ticked that flag, I will see what happens

I meant Thunderbird not Firebird in my post.

Must be the influence of the music.

The fix worked for me.

i have also just notice this today? About 30 copies of the same message, at the various stages of typing it! Not seen that before!

I just can't help posting my own (strong) opinion here - Do not use Apple Mail, especially if you use GMail. There is a plenty of better alternatives.

Well, Apple Mail does not play very well with Gmail labels if you use IMAP instead of POP. You will see lots of duplicates in your Apple Mail.

it appears to save the message every 30 seconds. If you look at the times of the copies there a two every minute.
