Force MuSo into 'Offline' mode?

Posted by: Neil Mc on 15 April 2015

Hi all - the other day my router started failing (obviously not NAIM's fault here) but I thought I'd revert to the Optical input to listen to an external music source connected to the MuSo whilst I didn't have internet connectivity.

The problem was that the MuSo wanted to keep trying to finding an active network connection which meant the device kept resetting itself every 30 seconds, cutting out the sound, even though I was using the 'offline' Optical input.

I understand why it was doing it, but is there a way to make the MuSo forced into offline mode so if it happens again I can keep it on Optical without it trying to find a working network connection?

Hi, what colour is the led light on the side of your mu-so next to the usb input? If it's white then it is still connected to your router.  To make it forget the current network it's on (or trying to access) you need to do a wi-fi reset. Find a paperclip or the reset pin tool that came with the mu-so, then insert it in to the pin reset hole and press the button inside and release. It's located to the left of the led indicator next the the usb input.

After about a minute the led on the side will be solid purple and not connected to your router anymore.

Thanks for the reply. I seem to remember the LED alternating between orange, purple then off. Once the router became stable then the normal white light also appeared on the muso.

Like I say though the lack of network wasn't the issue, more the constant restarting and reliance on internet when I only wanted to listen offline to the optical input.

The resetting of the WiFi seems a little 'permanent' as I'd have go through the setup again. But appreciate its probably the only way to avoid this in future.
