Streeamer NDX versus Unitiqute 2

Hi all, 

Al little bizar question but can anyone tell me the difference in NDX and Unitiqute 2 technical , feautures and quality in music finally please , why ?

I bought an NDX streamer  (4.400 &euro  but now the doubts creeps in ; "didn't a give not too much money on this streamer NDX instead of choosing for the Unitiqute (1.900 &euro ?

My amplifier is a Naim Nait XS2.  I could have choosen to connect an Unitiqute instead of the NDX....

If you'd bought the Unitiqute you could also sell the Nait, then think how much new music you could buy ???? Seriously though, with Naim gear you generally get what you pay for.

I run a UQ1 as a source only into a V1. As a pre out the dac in the UQ isn't as good as the V1, which gets one up into the NDX realm. Is the dac in the UQ twice as good in money terms than the UQ - that is something that only you and your pocket book can determine. 

 

Personally I think a used UQ as a digital out only into a dac of your choice is the best bet (don't forget a decent reference spdif cable - Atlas Mavros or Chord Indigo for example). The nice thing about the UQ or even V1 is that they can be used as separates (albeit hibernating much of their function) but then later used elsewhere solo if/when it comes time to upgrade the main system. Something to consider (plus lots on the used market).

I have both a UQ2 and an NDX. While the UQ2 is awsome, it's not in the same league as the NDX.

In a word, the NDX bring "substance". A simple A B comparison will settle the matter for you.

Now to wait for other members to suggest a Hugo instead :-)

I've asked myself the same question, I have a UQ2 providing a digital feed into a Hugo and I have often wondered if another digital transport, including the NDX, would provide a better end result.

Worth taking a look at the threads from a few years back - Allen B did the same, UQ to an NDX (Driving the naim DAC) and documented his thoughts on the forum.
