Descided it was time to upgrade my HDX software which was still on version 1.6c.

 

Burned the CD installed in HDX.

HDX read the CD and began the installation.

All looked good until the internet connection went down about 5 minutes after the home menu disappeared. Seems a tree branch has taken out my home internet connection. 

HDX been on "please wait" ever since

 

Should I try restarting the HDX or wait for the phone company to fix the incoming phone/dsl line first? Should I go and buy a vudu doll in the form of the HDX? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

if i recall correctly, the upgrade takes circa 20 minutes.

Thanks Trevor,

  Problem is it's been almost 2 hours. Didn't loose power and I am sure the CD was OK, but the internet connection has been down from about 5 minutes into the installation. Repair team will probably only get in tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure that you don't need a connection to the external internet to do this upgrade.  (It's been a while since I upgraded my UnitiServe so I'm not 100% sure.)

 

Send an email to Phil Harris here and he'll get you sorted out I am sure

Hi. Can you plug a vga monitor into the back of the hdx? This would give further details on what the upgrade is doing

Just checked with a monitor and got Firmware Upgrade Failed.

FrontPanel (error 63).

 

Just wondering what to do next.

im confident this can be resolved. can you contact Naim technical support (phil.harris@naimaudio.com) please. 

 

You can also try a power cycle as well, this will not cause anything bad for you

Just to update, the power cycle had no effect. Will bug the life savers at Seven

Powered up the HDX last friday after a couple of days unplugged and wouldn't you know it, the update ran flawlessly

 

Would once again like to thank Trevor and Phil at Naim, service is impeccable
