INXS

I've always been partial to INXS and have a couple of their albums and a couple of greatest hits DVD's but have just been introducing my Daughter to them and explaining to her how Michael Hutchence was one of the greatest frontmen/perfomers in the history of rock. Watching some of the performances I think he, Freddie Mercury and Elvis probably stand out as the most compelling live frontmen. So sad that they're all gone. I'm about to sit down and watch the INXS 'Never Tear us Apart' documentary tonight with the family to learn more of the band story. I've just ordered the DVD of their Wembley concert so have that to look forward to later in the week.
I've also just noticed that there's a documentary on his death available on Channel 5 on demand which might also provide a rather sad and morbid angle on things if I can face it. In a way I'd rather celebrate the man for his extraordinary musical talent and music and the fact he apparently joined the mile high club with Kylie Minogue on Qantas some years back (that must have been a memorable evening even by his standards ;-))
To my wife's eternal shame she attended a large outdoor music festival in Vienna sometime around 1984 I think with an old boyfriend primarily to see Leonard Cohen (they were both big fans). Apparently they left just before INXS came on because somehow they didn't know who INXS were and were feeling a bit tired!! Everytime I play INXS now I like to remind her what she missed and she looks like she's about to decapitate herself (or me) with a blunt butter knife!!
Mind you I'm not much better, I never saw them live either - something I bitterly regret.
Anybody else enjoy their music?
