The worst day of my life?

Guess it shows that the Lord giveth cables, and taketh away cars.
Glad you are not hurt; that being the main thing.
You walked away unscathed - that is the main thing.
Regards
Mick
What did you run into?
The driver that was behind me witnessed what happened. He couldn't believe that someone would try to do a right turn without even checking that there was on coming traffic.
I am lucky to walk away unharmed. I had a chat to the Police officer at the scene and someone died at the same junction 3 days ago. May they rest in peace.
Minh, its good you are OK, evidently, but make sure tocheck for delayed shock
If it's any consolation your car now looks like the average Parisian's! Good to hear you are well and retain your sense of proportion, we had a local car accident near Barneville-Carteret and one of the drivers burned to death whilst trapped in her car. Nasty.
Four years ago I had a crash too. Most disturbing was the acoustic shock I suffered from the exploding airbag, I could hear almost nothing during the following hour. Hope your ear is well.
Cars can be replaced. Good nobody got bad!
Glad you walked away. And because you walked away, no, it wasn't the worst day of your life. imo.

Mercedes used to have this problem. The windows are supposed to open slightly when the airbags engage to release the pressure. This often didn't happen and resulted in ear trauma.
Pleased you're unhurt Minh. A car is just a lump of metal and can be replaced.
Its ok its ok the coffee survived. Seriously though that must have been scary. Glad your ok Minh. Car can be replaced, just try to get one without a dent in it this time
Gosh, Minh, you're lovely SLK looks a mess. Glad to hear you were unhurt. The smoke in the car would have been from the airbag. I'm told by others it's quite a shock when they go off. Indeed, a colleague at work received fairly deep bruising in the lower legs when a knee-airbag deployed. I suppose they are explosive devices, after all.
Anyway, I hope your insurance works smoothly and you get your SLK sorted soon. Meanwhile you can de-stress by listening to your system.
Mike
Hope you will feel fine soon. Your health is the first priority - cars can be replaced or repaired.
take care.
When I was a practicing chiropractor, I had auto accident patients with shiners under both eyes from the airbag. Of course that is a far cry better than kissing the windshield.
Minh is your car a total loss? Or will the insurance insist it be repaired?
Minh, if this is the worst day of your life, you are a very happy man. Pleased you are ok and nobody was hurt. Just turn the page and continue enjoying life.
For sure you are going to solve a temporal transportation issue and that's it.
Regards.
Erich
Minh, considered it is a blessing in disguise because you have a good chance to get a (fancy) car for yourself.
Btw, I am also a Vietnamese British myself, but emigrated to the US many years ago.
Peter: pleased to meet you. Did your family escape the conflict as well?
We did indeed.
Minh, glad to know that it was "the opposite of the other thread that I started last month", and not what were your feelings.
I fully agree with you regarding your racial concepts. A color a difference in the form of the eyes or whatever make no difference. More than that, an opportunity to share and learn about other cultures, other's experience, etc.
Regarding the borders, the current order is that each country has the right to define the immigration policy. But this is going to end in a serious global humanitarian problem.
Take for example the south of Europe, should Italy receive thousands of immigrants coming from Africa? Difficult to say the less. Do they have the resources? The jobs? ....
Is an agreement among a good number of countries needed in order to receive a quota of "the world's immigrants"? Or should we wait that "attractive countries" (for the immigrants) in different parts of the world solve the problem as they want? Mexicans are literally hunted like animals (in New Mexico and Texas is a sport) when they cross the border to the US.
What I cannot accept is the fact that some countries are not helping and not receiving, even in a temporal basis, immigrants that are dying in the seas like the slaves in former years.
Regards.
Erich
^ I now have a sense that this thread is about to become a car crash waiting to happen.

Uhm, let me think about it... Someone here once was under treatment for leukemia, a very nice guy's wife took her own life, I've read of almost 800 drowned while trying to reach Lampedusa.. I agree, it wasn't.
But yes, having to choose the new car can be distressing.
