I guess it would help if you mentioned what you are trying to play from and to. 

Oh fair enough. I am playing flac files from my synology nas, streamed through NDX. I am using the naim app as control via iPad mini. My system is in my profile. Hope that's a bit clearer?

Pixies -- which UPnP server are you using . . . Synology Media Server?  It has proven pretty robust, but with Synology updates settings can get changed by themselves.

And note the sticky comment in this forum that Synology's latest updates have really messed up connectivity.

I recommend installing Minimserver on the Synology and trying that along the way.

Thanks Bart. I do use Synology media server, but have used minimserver previously. I have reverted back to media server as it has improved over the years and I also manage my playlists through it. However I will check out all your suggestions.

I think I get the same thing - and alays have. When you stop playing for a while, say a day later, then come back, the app still shows the last playlist. When you hit play, you get about a second of music, then it stops. To get it back to normal, you have to go back to the uPnP selection menu and reselect the album you want. Is this it? While it's not perfect, I just live with it - uPnP sync between devices always seems a bit hit and miss IMO. 

Yes DaveBk that's exactly it. I can return to it after a short period say within 10 to 15 mins and it will play fine. But an hr or day later I get same symptoms as you describe.  I've also 'lived with it' as it only mildly annoying. Just thought I would raise it on the forum. Out of interest are you using Synology media server as UPnP?

No, I'm using Asset. I guess we will have to carry on living with it for now....

Just an update for those who offered suggestions. Installed Minimserver as suggested and the problem is resolved.
