Paused streaming from NAS, after a while, do not work; is it normal?

Dear All,

if I pause a song streamed by NAS (Synology and native media server) and I come back after one hour or so (maybe even less) the music is not restart from the paused time.

It is happening to you as well?

Hi Maurizio,  yes same for me.

I rarely do it but assume its because either the iPad goes to sleep or the Synology hibernates.

I've never had this issue when an iOS device goes to sleep, even after long periods, so my guess is that's not the problem. (I don't use a Synology NAS for music, but as the Naim app only talks to the streamer, I imagine the same would apply.)

There are plenty of ways to stop a Synology NAS from hibernating, so that theory should be easy to test:

Or maybe it could be caused if a network connection is temporarily lost. I have occasionally lost a play queue in that scenario before.

Dears, thank you for yours answers.

I use not hibernation for my NAS, but the same hardware of Mike, maybe it is a 'limit' of Synology media server.

What do you use Chris?

Dear, just for confirming that is a Synology issue, I now use MinimServer and it works fine.
