Naim app can not find any "rooms" (NDX)??

Hi all.
I moved last weekend. NDX/Synology NAS/App were up and running within minutes. However, I changed router yesterday and PS/Laptops/iPads etc. are now running on the "new" network. But, my naim app cannot find my NDX.. i can play UPNP/iRadio by using the buttons on the front but not with iPad/iPhone.. :-( Any ideas??

Was your previous router the internal network's DNS? Did you have fixed IP addresses for any of the devices?
If yes, than that's probably the issue?
The other possibility is that the new router's firewall could be blocking the SSDP (the UPnP discovery protocol on UDP port 1900).
Okeey.. All of the above says very little to me.. I have never encountered any problems before. It have been "plug and play" since "day 1" with the NDX for me.
Any solutions then? "Fixed IP adress" etc etc ??!??
BTW, I could use the naim-app for iRadio and changing inputs etc. Since I couldn't use UPNP I clicked the "Reset App"... Since then I can't find any rooms.. On the exact same network.
Right, Let's try some other approaches...
Things to try
1 Turn the router off then on again
2 Turn the NDX off and on again
3 Use the Reset function on the Naim app
4 Reboot the iOS devices (turn them fully off and restart them)
If these fail then the new router could be blocking the discovery request.
(Do you have a simple network switch between the NDX and the NAS? It won't improve the connection to the iPhone / iPad, but it can make the main audio data flow work better.)
Thank's Huge. I will follow your recomendations later this evening or early in the morning. Restarting the iPad might do the trick, have not even thought about that one.
I do not have a network switch btw.
Good luck, I occasionally have this problem, and usually one of these has fixed it. I'm trying to work out the best sequence to fix this and a problem with the starting of tracks.
Unless your network is working flawlessly without one, I'd say it's worth adding a switch anyway instead of connecting everything to your router.
Changing the router is a pretty big change. The router assigns IP addresses to everything on the network.
When you changed the router, you needed to get into a situation where the new router could assign new IP addresses to all the networked devices, and consequently all of the networked devices needed to get into a state where they were looking for a new IP address.
I'd power EVERYTHING down, get the router up and running, and then power up networked devices one by one. I'd monitor the assignment of IP addresses by watching the router info (log into it with your browser).
And I'd use a switch.
Thanks again for your input. I will try some different approaches as recommended by you. And maybe add a switch in the near future.
This is getting stranger by the minute.. I powered everything down (including the TIVO-box). Starting up everything, router first Then the NDX. Voila! Naim app up and running and I was able to browse my NAS. Then after a while... "<No Servers>. I thought this had something to do with the TIVO..?
When I was typing this I powered the TIVO down... And now I'm able to use the naim app again...!?!?
So, I can't have power to the TIVO and using the NDX/NAS at the same time? Will a switch solve this??
Are you sure the TiVO and the NDX have different IP Addresses?
The router is the DHCP manager & it cannot assign the same IP addresses to two components, but it sounds like this might be a possible somehow.
The easy solution is "reserve" a specific IP address for NDX,& while yr at it the NAS & app controller as well. This is not a fixed or static IP address, its just a reserved number for each of the items MAC addresses.
All you need to do is manually assign the reserved IP numbers to the MAC addresses of the NDX, NAS & app controller, this is done in the router. Assign numbers that are inside the allocated DHCP range (in my router this goes from 64 - 254 so I use 200, 201 & 202.
Make sure everything is set to DHCP, that means the NDX, NAS & app controller & all the other stuff incl ViVO.
Shut down & then restart everything, start the router first & leave it until all the function lights are up, then the NAS, NDX & app controller, check they are all working correctly. Then switch on everything else & they will be allocated DHCP numbers by the router..
I did this in my router about 12 months ago & its been rock solid since.
No I doubt a switch will fix this problem, but it will for sure improve the data streaming & as a result the SQ
@Gary Shaw: No idea..
@ Mike-B: I will try this, even if it sounds complicated to me.. DHCP..? Thanks for the step by step guide. This forum is ACE when one needs answers.
It really isn't complicated Magnus, its basically resetting & saving 3 lines of numbers in the router, finding out how you actually do that in your specific router is maybe the most complicated part.
I just hope it works OK for you
@Mike-B: Thank's, I will call my friend "the IT-Guru" tomorrow morning.
I have exactly this problem (except I did not change my router - a Cisco RVS4000).
When switched on, my ND5 XS will communicate with the Naim App for something like 20-60mins and then I get the "cannot find rooms" message.
Changing from a dynamically assigned IP address to a static IP address does not solve the problem.
The problem appears to be something to do with Bonjour network services - using the Net Analyzer App, I can see that the ND5 XS no longer has Bonjour services when the problem starts and it will no longer respond to a network ping.
Everything else on the network works fine (laptop, iPhone, iPad, NAS, TV, Phillips Hue, etc).
If I switch the ND5 XS off, wait a while and then switch it on again, normal service is restored for 20-60 mins.

Useful info juanito ....
My thoughts are that I doubt its in the ND5 as thats only been moved to a new house & it does play OK from the front panel & Naim remote.
The only thing that has changed is the router, my instinct says to focus on that first.
Apart from trying my first idea of reserved IP address(s) in the router DHCP manager ...... I would also investigate the new routers firewall as that could be blocking SSDP - another "Bonjour" type UPnP presence broadcast.
