Who says cricket's boring?

2,676 runs scored at 7.3 an over, two wins each, records broken. So who's gonna win the decider tonight?

Very boring to me and far too much of it on the BBC national news. It's an English game and of little interest in Ireland Wales and Scotland.

Of course I got a reaction. But again this is one of the exceptional sports which doesn't interest me at all, golf is also on that list as a game to watch. Of course i do also understand that other find cycling boring which is one of my favorite ones to watch....

it's it's like with music, just about personal preferences.....

Sorry - I'll never understand the attraction of the TDF as a spectator sport (though our news report said not that many people watch it anyway).

Still - agree with your last statement

Lol, that made me smile even at prework time of the morning.  International bus catching on Sky Sports 1, I can see it now.  The Germans will win, although from memory the Turks are brilliant at it.

You should try getting on a bus in India, it's at least as exciting as Rugby.

Cricket is just pants compared to Bus Catching!

Below, officials from a British Bus Catching Depot are given a de-briefing

I once got on a bus from Jhansi (UP) to Khajuraho (MP) and a chain gang got on it together with their armed guards.

Dutch national cricket team

Err, could they make their way to Lords at their earliest convenience please? I think we may need their inherent cheeriness about now.

Cricket is a very simple game.

To win you simply need to play less rubbish than your opponents.

Cricket only becomes less boring when both teams are equally inept.

If cricket was played naked, this would put new dynamics on the game and probably attract a certain new type of audience

Only in case of female teams, with a lot of breaks with close ups...., that would get me excited for cricket...... under all other circumstances......., forget about me....

Cricket is an awesome game.

For the most part:

The baller - throws the ball.

The batter - tries to hit it.

The other folks on the baller's team - stand around doing nothing. Ok - they run around if the ball comes towards them.

The other folks on the batter's team - sip gin tonic in the stand so they don't get malaria.

Haven't you seen Women's beach volleyball?

Australia 110 for 8 after winning the toss

Crazy series.....

Better not all be over by the weekend as I have a ticket for Saurday!

Posted on: 29 July 2015 by MDS

Hope you get to see some action on Saturday, Bruce.  Weather permitting I think you should as I can't see the Aussie's being so careless in their second innings.  While England are now only 3 runs behind, two of the three wickets were rather given away, so more discipline will be needed on Day 2 if the first inning lead is going to make the Aussies sweat.  I'd settle for a lead of three hundred before the Aussies bat again.

England playing very well. Australia on the rack. What a change from the second test!  Such an unpredictable game, is cricket.

Posted on: 30 July 2015 by MDS

Well, I think I might have been premature in thinking this will go to Day 4 so, sorry Bruce, your Saturday  ticket might be wasted.  What a brilliant series, though.  Who could possibly be bored with this?

Posted on: 30 July 2015 by Bruce Woodhouse

It looks like I will have to settle for losing my only day at cricket this year in exchange for a victory tomorrow.

Odd series this, it is exciting partly because the quality is erratic with two or three batsmen on each side in dreadful form. England have bowled more consistently just about but Johnson still capable of producing the unplayable. His two wickets this morning made me think of the W Indies attack.

Q. If Clarke was not captain, would he be dropped?

Worrying to see Anderson injured, and rare too. At least he gets an extra couple of days rest.

It looks like England are in a pattern of winning every 2nd test this summer. Winners sequence is England, New Zealand, England, Australia, and presumably England again. This means that England will lose the 4th test and triumphantly win the deciding 5th test. So well done in anticipation!
