Patrick MacNee

Just heard of his death. The Avengers was a must watch when I was a young teenager. I remember lusting after Diana Rigg (adolescent hormones). R.I.P.
Indeed - very sad news on Steed's passing.
Adolescent lusting after Diana Rigg must now make waching Game of Thrones disconcerting
Purdey was my era. He was a great character actor. Very memorable as Steed.

A true gent. RIP
Sad but Patrick had a good long life. R.I.P.
The Avengers was a great show loved DR then and her "new" daughter in GoT.
RIP!
Class and charm, all the way!
Have been watching him in the Avengers series for several weeks on the True Entertainment TV channels. Takes me back to my teenage 60's + when I first saw them.
There was always that "will they won't they" with his leading ladies.
Saw him recently in a 1997 Frazier episode playing Derek Jacobi's "father". At 75 he still had a twinkle in his eye.
No one else could have played Steed.
Ladies up there watch out!
Agree with comments made. Talented and a good human being. The surprise for me was finding that this epitome of all things British was already a naturalized American before I first saw him on television in the mid-60's. The Avengers and The Saint were the first early imports that I can recall. Both very good.

Purdey! Ahhh. Now you're talking, G.
Still, RIP Patrick. I thought he was pretty cool at the time.

Blimey. Had completely forgotten about Tara King. Must have made an impression on you, Chris
There was something very attractive about Tara King, played by Linda Thorson, to me as a young teenager.

Can't think why......
Ooh! Memories.
Very sad to hear of Patrick Macnee's passing but his was certainly a life well lived because he brought joy to millions of fans. I'm a huge fan of the Avengers and in particular The New Avengers (more my era). Their quirky charm and his class, style and warmth makes for hugely enjoyable watching in our home even nowadays. They don't make programmes like this anymore sadly and nobody else could ever replace him in the role of Steed.
RIP in Patrick and condolences to his family, what a thoroughly debonair and charming gent.
