Seen one or two beat combos but nothing to beat Burt Bacharach.

They need more proper rock bands. Of the little I've watched Motorhead, yes Motorhead, were the highlight for me.

Even the drum solo?

Its Sunday !!!!   It can only get better (can't be worse sez I)

The WHO are tonites headliners -  proper music with crusty ol' gits who know what its about

Although poor old Roger's voice isn't what it used to be they'll still bring the house down.

Jessie Ware is the best I've seen or heard so far. KW was not good and has been criticised by his fans for a lazy and self indulgent set. It doesn't make rap crap, it just means KW did a bad show.

There were some great comments on Twitter. The lighting looked like a giant sun bed or grill and that it would have great if John had lowered on the lighting rig when KW complained.

As you can tell I am really looking forward to The Who tonight.

when I saw them in Leeds earlier this year it ranked as one of the top concerts I have ever been to over the decades....it was that good!

... and Roger's voice is still mighty strong.

Got back yesterday after a week away and didn't bother with the coverage that was on last night - nothing really appealed to me.

But there's plenty on the red button catch up TV that illbe watching later.

Especiallylooking forward to Motörhead, great to see them on at Glastonbury at last.

But The Who tonight is going to be great, those guys sure still know how to rock after all these years.

I would be inclined to the former - as I'm a big Kanye fan - so therefore biased

Why does that not surprise me?

I seemed to recall that my Jay-Z The Black Album didn't get a particularly enthusiastic reception - especially from Peter

There was an interesting article in yesterday’s Times; apparently the average age of headline acts at major festivals has gone up steadily from 31 in 1996 to 43 in 2014.

Glastonbury is a commercial venture and Mr Eavis is the Richard Branson of festivals, laughing all the way to the bank. Rock'n'roll is dead. Long live rock'n'roll!

Although it could be mostly the same people  Did it comment on the average of people attending festivals?

The 'Stones must have collectively skewed the weighting towards the geriatric.

Not keen on Paloma Faith

But KW was the worst act in the history of Glastonbury

The accolade for worst act in the history of Glastonbury has to go to Mumford & Sons, but the 10 minutes or so I saw of Mr West's car-crash performance indicated that he would not be far behind the bewaistcoated purveyors of hedge fund manager-folk.

Interestingly, the Grauniad has been, every day for the past six months or so, publishing articles about how fantastic KW is, and how he is the greatest star on the planet; and about how anyone who thinks otherwise is at best an ageing fan of indie landfill or at worst an out-and-out racist. I wonder what the paper's laughably ill-informed music hacks made of last night's farrago.

Lionel Richie - a middle aged youngster of 66 - is showing the newbee acts a thing or two as I write,  the crowd is really grooving.

A three star review. Paralysed by the conflict of knowing it was rubbish but trying to appear 'with it' (to use an anachronism).

No mention of average audience age, but I would imagine that has gone up as well.

It did say that the ticket price for the 1970 festival was £1 which is about £14 in today’s money, a little less than the current asking price of £225.

The show is somewhat bigger now though!

I want to know why  East 17 aren't headlining tonight ?

Posted on: 28 June 2015 by Charles44

I just don't give it the time of day. I would sooner listen to the music I've collected for years it's far more satisfying for me.

What is on at Glastonbury is largely middle of the road and frankly uninspiring.

Ha ha just read it - you could tell Petridis wanted to give it two (at most) but that would have meant admitting that the Graun's entire editorial policy on Sweaty Ken (an amusing anagram of Kanye West) was laughably off-beam. I expect an article will be along tomorrow to inform us that Wankey Set (another West anagram) is a "misunderstood genius." And another one the day after. And another the day after that. And...

Rubbish is rubbish - no two ways about - and there is so much good music; to waste air time on Mr West is travesty. Do people read the Guardian?

According to ABC, Wat, they do. But in ever decreasing numbers. Given that the Graun is now most full of apologia for extremist Islam, has the worst music and arts coverage in Fleet Street and continually offers a platform to some absolutely dire columnists, this is hardly surprising.

Steele Pulse what can I say but Rastafari!

Fantastic groove, Handsworth Revolution just stole it for me and of course finishing with Ku Klux Klan.

Love and justice to all!
