tribute to another great man

Tim Smith of Cardiacs fame is still in hospital 2 years after having a massive heart attack. A lot of noted musicians got together recently to make a tribute album, all Cardiacs songs but using their own interpretation. Tim Smith is a genius, I have seen his band many times and have always left the venue with a big smile. Are there any other members who are fans of this great man?

I wouldn't class myself as a fan. I saw The Cardiacs many years ago in The Marquee, London. It wasn't a planned gig, we just turned up and they were the band that night. All I remember of the gig was that the songs consisted of constantly shifting time signatures that I couldn't get into. One of life's experiences though.

Hi Redmires

Yeah I know what you mean, they are not a band you can get into easily, I introduced a close friend to them and it took him 6 months to get it, but now he is hooked, in saying that when someone introduced them to me, although I knew this was something special it took me an age to appreciate what they were doing. If you want to investigate them further I would recommend "All that glitters is a mares nest, a live album set in a church in Glastonbury including noisy pidgeons at the start.
