Some of you may remember I needed a A11SR AV Amp fixed!

Posted by: Blueknowz on 09 April 2011

I sent it  at a cost of £95 plus insurance to Denon's recommend service centre , They had it for about a month supposedly doing any manner of tests on it,They then emailed me to say  a new Motherboard @ £600plus was needed, which baulked at.I asked them to return the amp,( another £50) so I could maybe sell it for spare parts.A friend of mine asked how much I was looking for,I let him have for £100 telling him only to use it in Stereo mode only.He asked a fiend of his to have a look at it,just on the off chance he might be able to fix it. Now this Amp was giving intermittent pops & clicks when in all 5.1 surround modes! which was why I sent it to Denon's service centre.

Anyway he opened up the case to check the chip,& found a stray piece of copper wire

over the chip( this was causing an electrical charge to pass across the chip),he moved the piece to the side of the chip & secured in place.

Result my friend now has an all singing ,all dancing First Class AV Amp!

And much did it cost him ,the princely sum of £20.
