Having seen the who on tv at Glastonbury i not sure who would prefer to see my favorite tribute band whos next or the who 2015.probably whos next in front of 100 rather than the who with 100,000 looking tiny from along way back.same goes for ac/dc , wholelottadc brilliant tribute band . Anyone with same opinions.
I can honestly say 'Robert Plant' is my local taxi driver...(when he's not Robert Plant)...

The Australian Pink Floyd Show is doing quite a decent job....
Hammer of the Gods - Led Zeppelin, ok not great....
But of course the best Tribute Band of them all is Dream Theater:
And of course Transatlantic did some great covers/.....
Finally quite a special one...
Some bands get to big ,of the top of my head the bootleg beatles, limehouse lizzy and pink floyd and Fleetwood Mac tributes.
Ok one more ....., this is an addictive creative post....Miles Davis did some interesting things as well in this field, while one couldn't talk anymore about cover....
I think the definition of a tribute band is not always definite. Is the current Queen, without Freddie Mercury, performing Queens old hits, different in any significant way to a tribute band?
Many other bands from the 60s, 70s, 80s and even 90s are reforming, often with significant change in their line-up, and performing their old hits and sometimes only their biggest selling album. Tributes to their former selves?

Yes Wat APFS do old and new PF but they don't really need a Syd as they don't do many of the childish Syd tracks.
If you can't now see some of the bands and like live music, the tribute bands are great.
Another vote for Ausie Pink Floyd Show.
Partial to PG era Genesis? Then Los Endos are excellent.
Voodoo Room, are very good Jimi & Cream.
We have seen Rumours of Fleetwood Mac in the past but now the full real band is touring.
Fairly recently we saw The Yardbirds supporting The Zombies here in Tunbridge Wells. The former were effectively a tribute band (McCarty and Dreja the only originals plus young guns) and the latter not so (featuring Blunstone and Argent), and yet The Yardbirds came across with much more passion and drive, whereas The Zombies were a bit cabaret club.
When we saw Brian Wilson doing Smile at the RFH, the first half, when they did greatest hits was just like watching a very good tribute band as Brian appeared to do naff-all. The second half, when they did Smile itself, he came alive in a way that no tribute band could do.
The Australian Pink Floyd Show is doing quite a decent job....
The band is just fantastic that is really what I think by the way which one's Syd?
Do they do Arnold Layne, See Emily Play, Apples & Oranges and Interstellar Overdrive?
Another big +1 for The Australian Pink Floyd. Absolutely magnificent, and yes Wat I think it was three years ago I heard them play a selection of Barrett songs in specific tribute to him.. Although Interstellar Overdrive was very cut down......
I love The Australian Pink Floyd too. Superb musicians, excellent lightshow and delivered with a nice touch of aussie humour. Their playlist when I saw them was quite diverse; not just the obvious PF " hits".
I remember going to a tribute band festival in Walthamstow about 12 years ago, featuring Whole Lotta Led, Alike Cooper, AB/CD and Fake Bush. Quite good fun but they all rather outstayed their welcome.
Best I've seen is AC/DC tribute band Livewire.
They even had a "Bon Scott" and a "Brian Johnson" not just one bloke doing it all.
If you live in Birmingham a band called skabucks are worth seeing if you like a bit of ska, 2 tone , singer is the landlord of the hop pole i believe so you probably catch them there.
