Great Article on Ripping SACDs (DSD)

Posted by: MarkMcK79 on 01 July 2015

Andrew Everard, who has written some of the recent reviews of the 272 and other products, has posted a great article to his website that gives a comprehensive overview of the method to rip SACD to DSD (DSF or DFF) for playback on streaming devices, DSD-capable DACs, etc.

The article might be of great use to those who have recently loaded the 4.3 firmware and wish to incorporate SACD rips.  I have ripped ~300 SACDs using the process so far to great effect and am really enjoying the playback of DSF files on my 272.

I hope the link proves valuable to others.

Hey Mods (Richard) - Just curious why this was moved to the Padded Cell?  I was legitimately trying to provide useful information to the forum, where several members have asked about acquiring DSD files/ripping SACDs.

Not sure why this was immediately banished, yet the incredibly useful "Hello Forum, I am VERY happy" still remains in the Hi-Fi Corner...

+1 -  this is useful info on DSD & is extremely relevant to the new firmware upgrade launched this week

Mark,

I didn't want to have to remove your link - so by necessity it couldn't stay in the Hifi Corner where such links are banned.

Richard - Thanks for the clarification.  Hopefully anyone interested will stumble upon the thread using the search function.
