Firmware 4.3 update - clock still wrong on Uniti2
Posted by: Penarth Blues on 01 July 2015
Just done the wonderful firmware update involving witchcraft, etc and the only reason I did it was to be able to set the time properly again. Now it appears that not only is the time still wrong but also there is no longer the option to amend the time zone.
Am I missing something as other people are reporting this now working properly?
Now the clock has updated to the correct time...
No idea why but happy again
Now off to check out the BBC radio updates
I had interesting problem with my UQ2 and the clock. I actually never had a problem with the clock or timezone like other people before. I had to install 4.3 for things to break.
With 4.3 installed, the streaming functions worked perfect as before but...
- The clock shows "No Time"
- When updating the time via NTP it delivered one of two errors (you could do it 10 times and get different results). a) NTP hosts unreachable. UDP123 is blocked or b) No network connection. Both of which were wrong since streaming was fine and as for UDP123, this is not firewalled. I even redirected it to an NTP server on the same subnet (only L2 switch between hosts) that I happen to host in the office and it still failed with one of the two errors.
To fix the problem, I had to temporarily switch the network to DHCP which then got a new address on the same subnet but from the DHCP pool and then NTP suddenly works. Then switch it back to static IP when set.
Go figure.
Seeing exactly the same thing, just updated to 4.3 in the hope of getting the time fixed! Still an hour out and the amend time zone option missing!

I see the same Problems. No timezone in the clock menu!
I've just updated to 4.3 on a Uniti 2 and have the same clock problem as before. It's still an hour out but there is no option to set a timezone offset. Where can I find htis? Or is 4.3 just as buggy as 4.1?
It seems to have worked ok for me on the SU. When I first did the update, it was still wrong. Took the option to re-sync the time from the internet, still wrong. But I do still have the option to set an offset, and this worked. Previously I could go in to the option to set an offset, but it just ignored it. Now it applies it and the time is correct.
Having said that, when I subsequently next went in to the app, it asked me if I wanted to automatically enable daylight savings. Had I seen that earlier, perhaps I wouldn't have needed to set the offset.
One hour in and the clock has spontaneously set itself to BST (despite repeated failed attempts to re-sync manually). Do we presume it will revert to GMT correctly in October? There is still no manual time zone option given, even though after a net sync the front panel display says the time zome option should be used if the time is incorrect.
The latest online manual for the Uniti 2 is still for software version 3.13 as far as I can tell, so is quite a lot out of date. Wouldn't it be nice if Naim updated their manuals to correspond with new software versions? And is there any manual or even a help file for the iPad control app?
I'm new to Naim equipment in the last couple of years. Can't fault the sound quality, which is what i bought it for. But the documentation and software support seems very poor to me.
