Best album titles... in the world ever!

I thought I'd get the ball rolling with this one. Nicely self-deprecating and very timely considering today's sad news:
The track Airhead was one of the songs played on the first Linn-Naim system I'd ever heard, at a dealer. I was floored and hooked.
Love, Pusscats and Carwrecks. Just about sums it up. A great album from Funki Porcini.
Album title : Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian
"A Ass Pocket of Whiskey" by R.L. Burnside.
"Old Hag You Have Killed Me" by The Bothy Band.
Butthole Surfers - Hairway to Steven
Butthole Surfers - Electriclarryland
Three titles fpr yu to enjoy
Steve
MAN - 2oz of plastic with a hole in the middle. Sums it all up Succinctly IMO.
Spooky Two was better!
I got an original vinyl copy of "Pussy Plays" (68 or 69) by not surprisingly by a group called "Pussy" and people pay a fortune for copies of this album. This is very surprising because it is by far the worse album I have ever heard. It was voted the worst album ever on Radio 1 not long after its release and they were right.
I must sell it!
Another Jesus & Mary Chain
"The Sound of Speed"
Good play on words and quite descriptive of the content.
The Mothers of Invention "Weasels Ripped my Flesh"
and a bit of wordplay from Frank of course....
Big Bill
i agree with you that Spooky Two was a better album than You Broke My Heart, but still think the latter had a title more in line with this thread. That said, You Broke My Heart was still a superb record and contained Self Seeking Man: one of the finest songs ever written.
Spooky Tooth were one of my favourite bands and with the possible exception of Ceremony - never put a foot wrong. I'd sooner listen to Spooky Tooth than the Rolling Stones, but that's me that is. (I don't dislike the Stones by the way).
All the best, Wat
Sorrt Wat, when I responded to your post I was under the misunderstanding that we were being asked for the best albums ever. I did not register it was the name. DOH on me.
Spooky Two is a great album, one of my favourites which blue me away in 1969 when I bought it, but a fairly naff title.
I vote Radio 1 the second worst radio station only outdone by the complete rubbish called Radio 1 Xtra. So I don't believe that lot would know a good album if it was programmed in to their brains (if they've got any), Pussy Plays is a wonderful album: you need to play it more than once for it to hit you. I really like Pete Whiteman's organ playing. Have you got the Morgan Blue Town label version?
The band Pussy was assembled especially to play to series of pieces by Danny Bickerman. I only have the CD version.

Yes I have the Morgan Blue Town version and I have to say sorry again but I thought it was awful and so did a mate of mine 'cos he bought and then tried to sell it to me. When he realised that I wasn't going to buy it he gave me it instead and I had to be convinced of that too. Maybe I will dig it out and give it another chance.
Radio 1 wasn't too bad when it first started, now of course it is awful and totally unrecognisable from its early days. Come to think about it Radio 2 ain't that great anymore, too many of the morons from Radio 1 are now at Radio 2. Mark Radcliff, Jo Wiley, Chris Evans & Steve Wright must be the most annoying people in the World, when will Jo Wiley learn she is not in year 12 any more and as for the coverage at Glastonbury? Is there any one who actually listens to that drivel.
I can remember when Tony Blackburn was the most annoying and unfunny DJ on R1 but now compared to most of the others he is quite entertaining!%"^!&
It is no accident of course, that the best shows on R2 are those done by musicians: Jamie Cullum and Paul Jones for example.
"The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter " - U always loved that title too. Can you imagine going to a public hanging and standing while some poor wretched is being hung and just booking the Hangman's daughter? Kind of surreal.
My favourite album though was Earthspan, the most psychedelic folk album of all time. Just Brilliant.
Back to DJs, yes the musicians who DJ just focus on the music and Jamie and Paul are passionate about their stuff. John Peel had to be everyone's favourite, although I didn't always agree with his musical taste but he was very much like the musician DJs - passionate about the music. Used to like listening to Mike Harding and really enjoyed the few shows Bob Dylan did.
Can you remember how expensive LPs were and how poor we were in 1967, most people (inc me) had very small record collections. In 67 it would mainly be singles I suppose. But I do still have some classic originals, in good nick, from that magical period - late 60s - early 70s The Golden Age!
ps I thought Pussy Plays would have been about £50, are you serious?
Yes Big Bill I'm serious. A copy of Pussy Plays was recently sold at a record auction for £985. It has to be in excellent condition, but even if not it is worth more than £50.
Well I'll be horse whipped.
another title to make you smile
Steve
The Power of Pussy, by Bongwater (1990):
Butthole Surfers - Locust Abortion Technician
OR
Butthole Surfers - Hairway to Steven
I don't know about best album name, but this would be my No. 1 best band name.
