AIFF 32bit, Naim streamer can?

Dears,

I'm just going on my experiments in transcode and down-sample DSD files.

With XLD I would keep the 32 bit resolution.

But my Uniti2 won't play. Looking at the specification Naim web page 24 bit is the highest supported resolution for the whole streamer family,

but...

if you google it you will jump on the Naim specification web page of the NAC-N 172 XS which state... it is 32 bit capable!

Hi as DSD at best is approx 20bit equivalent PCM resolution, I really don't think you would benefit in any meaningful way trying to support 32 bits.

i have a vague recollection that 32 bit was supported possibly on the USB file port but not certain of this.. Best do a test to see if you can playback a 32 bit wav/AIFF file from a USB stick.

Thanks Simon, I will try 32 just as test but I will then stick on 24 bit as you reccomanded.

Up to now I get the better result increasing the frequency to 192 kHz, I do not why as is not usually a standard decimation.

Anyway at lower frequency I get time by time clicks in transcoded aiff at 24 bit.

And it surprises me that the track lengths are also sometimes incorrect.
