A strange issue with Apple Macbook Pro

Posted by: Richard Dane on 15 July 2015

Ever since I started up my Apple Macbook Pro this morning I've been having a strange issue; every 5 minutes or so a dialog screen pops up asking me to join my wifi hub with the following message - <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Success</TITLE></HEAD><BODY>Success</BODY></HTML>

At the bottom of the frame you find the following address; apple.com/library/test/success.html.

I can't get it to stop and fear something has broken or perhaps needs updating.  I'm just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue or knows of a solution.

OK, I think I have found the issue from searching the Apple boards.  It's not just me, it appears to be affecting everyone with Apple devices...

I'm not sure James, but it does seem to be an issue at Apple.  Perhaps a server down or a file corrupted or missing perhaps?  I'm getting it on my iPhone as well when it tries to connect to my wifi network, so it's not just the MBP.

Hmm - not seeing anything here on my phone but hopefully it'll all be sorted by the time i get back tonight.

According to the various boards online it appears Apple have now fixed this issue.  iPhone now working fine on Wifi network and (so far) the dialog box has not reappeared on the MBP.

Try to change you homepage and restart. Then check again if the message will pop up.

Thanks

Maikee, I did that.  It happened on all Apple devices connected through the 'net.  Apple have now fixed the problem.
