The new Naim app you mean? (If you're still using one called nStream, it's way out of date.)

Just delete and re-install if it's misbehaving, as a first step.

Are you really still running the old n-Stream?? 

If you want to use the new Naim app instead, no you should not NEED to update your 172, although I recommend it.  What version is it on?

I think I was running a mix of 3.17 & 3.22 when I updated to the 'naim' app, all devices now at latest release. No problems encountered when running the older firmware with the latest 'naim'. I would get everything up to date maze, seems the latest iteration of both updates is solid enough.

+1 everything is solid, and IMHO once you get used to navigating the new app (learn what to press to play one track vs. the entire cd), it's totally fine.  Not 100% of us agree, but I think it's just fine. 

Ok Bart I have deleted Nstream and loaded new app, however why when I am using a digital input such as my TV on the app only the digital inputs are showing on the app screen? I used to be able to view my nas while still listening to the TV on the old app but the new app doesn't let me without selecting pc on the remote, therefore I cannot scan or select what I Amy want to play before switching inputs.

If you press the Naim logo at the top left you will get the front screen, which will enable you to browse the NAS while listening to something else. You need to explore the app, as it's quite different to nStream.

Thanks, I will just add I have never been able to upgrade the firmware on the 172 as it's never been able to recognise any com ports on the PC. Even Naim failed to help with this when Steve Harris tried to remotely with my PC.

If the Naim support guys couldn't do it then it can't be done, not with your current PC anyway.

You could ask your dealer to do it for you or if you live anywhere near Guildford in the UK, my PC successfully updated my three streamers recently and you would be welcome to try updating yours at my place. No doubt there are other forum members around the country who would say the same.

How do I select just ( say) 3 or 4 tracks from an album?  I know I can do "Play from here" and delete those after the ones I want; or do "Queue Next, Queue last etc" but that is a bit tedoius and prone to error especially if there are a lot of tracks (eg Pictures at an Exhibition)

Iis there an equivalent of the "long press and +" which Bubble gives?

Selecting just 3 or 4 tracks sounds a bit like making a playlist.  I can't test now, but other than play one track, play all, or "play from here" (that is, the selected track and all following tracks), I think that if you want to get fancier you need to make a playlist.

Yep. That's playlist territory.

It can get addictive.
