BAD album covers...

we all know that some albums have terrible artwork so I thought id start a thread where we can post
album covers that we do not like so here goes....
NEIL YOUNG "landing on water"
abysmal cover, but its probably the best thing about the album, and that says it all!
To avoid the usual suspects in this type of thread you might need to limit the bad album covers to ones that people actually own. Otherwise the usual suspects will be posted.
This album cover is the one in my collection that I find most troubling ( bad?).You could argue that the photo is of a public act to protest an issue ( oppression of Buddhism) and keeping it in the public domain is therefore a good thing so that the issue is not forgotten.
The may or may not be so, but its distrurbing because it's real and it would be distressing to many ( which was probably the point of using it). It would seem more appropriate to use the image on a purely not for profit human rights/political awareness album however.

Compared to Neil Young and Crazy Horse "Zuma" (sorry can't do a pic) it's a visual artistic masterstroke!
Here's a few who's music deserves something better (leaving aside the stock 'floating head syndrome" covers) for you to google.
Matt Johnson - Burning Blue Soul (crayon rubblsh as angst).
Steve Hackett - anything! Really anything with that wishy-washy O level art. And then there was 'Please Don't Touch'!
Klaus Schulze - Inter-face (making smoking and having long hair not cool)
Miles Davis - anytthing with and sometimes without (gasp!) a trumpet.
David Bowie - Lodger (like a human fly on a windshield)
XTC - Mummer (friendly shadows on that painful school bogroll)
Peter Murphy - Should the World Fail To Fall Apart (wtf is it? A decorated cow-pat?)
Depends on what you mean bad.

Is it an early alias of Jimi Tenor?
Sheer laziness and lack of imagination IMO.

Now this is what I call a lazy and unimaginative cover. Terrible:
Sheer laziness and lack of imagination IMO.
After the overkill of Pepper and MMT, I thought it was a bit of a masterstroke Steve. Done by Richard Hamilton too!
And it's a gazillion times better than this rejected cover (when they were still considering A Doll's House as an album title):
It's enough to put you off music for life.
i like it
Mark,
That album cover is just too disturbing! You win the prize hands down.
I'll be avoiding this thread in future until I can find a way of starting on page 2 by default, thereby avoiding the possibility of ever seeing that Herbie Mann album cover ever again.

I don't know. My mother would get scared to death!
This thread is both laugh out loud hilarious yet very scary at the same time. I mean, the Faith Tones, it is enough to give you nightmares.
Any dyslexics around?
I think to remember there was more.......
How to make the artist's name fill the whole album cover.
I was thinking now my that's got my arousal level / attention, then I had a little zoom I got as far as "Sadie's still got the rag on" that was when I loss interes. funny Lol classic!
I'm digging this one. Somebodys grandma's by now I'd expect. Jesus loves everyone even me, or so I'm told.
Yes. He loves all but the hairdresser!
I think they are all blokes in drag.
