Good value backup.

I bought one of these external Hard Drives from Amazon as an extra back up for my music library.

They seemed to have reduced in price with the 5TB version being half price at £109.99, only about £7 more than the 4TB version. Excellent VFM for those who may be interested.

Conveniently the surface resembles the walls of an anechoic chamber, no need to worry about employing/tweeking room correction if you locate it in the listening area.

Does it have any built in DLNA or UPNP server?

Even better, a Toshiba 5 TB HD for under a hundred quid :-http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B00J3OP7FW/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

In the States, some of those Seagate devices include 200gb of cloud storage from Microsoft.  (Well included for the first year; pay as you go after that.)

Many routers have UPNP / DLNA services and USB3 ports...so using the combination of a networked external USB hard disc for storage and streaming exists if it's of interest. You'll want a router with a decent processor, but that's not too difficult to source these days....and many folks probably already have one (eg Asus RT-N66 and above can do the job).

edit: ps - I've added a USB 3 external drive to my Synology 213+ for extra space, but have yet to check whether I can include the volume(s) in the MinimServer or MediaStation directory list...
