Synology NAS EDS14

Hi All

Does anyone use one of these, are they any good as a small NAS?
I was considering one to use with my Mu-so, as its small & fan less too!

It's designed to be portable. I would go for a "small office" solution with more ram ( 1 gb at least) and a faster processor.

I doubt very much that anyone has used this as a music NAS. Looking at the spec's & set up manual, it doesn't look to be suitable.for music files, better for fixed station security or small batch photo's or small numbers of music files when on the move.

The most important thing missing for music (or large storage video & photo) is that it doesn't have RAID. It needs an outboard USB storage attached which means its not a one box item & compared to a fully fledged NAS suitable for music it does cut it.
