Spotify stuttering

Posted by: angrypants on 27 September 2015

Hey all,
Just bought myself a mu-so for my apartment, and i have to say I am so happy with every aspect of it; Its like im re-discovering sound all over again. The only problem I am having lately is when i play spotify connect it seems to stutter and cut out. When this happens I tend to switch over to AirPlay and it works fine but I would like to get this working just because i would like to use my phone and not have my music cut out when I get a call, and I tend to think the music sounds alot 'fuller' and 'richer' on connect (could be the streaming quality?).
I live in a appartment block, and it tends to be worse at night, so i thought it could be the internet quality? But my phone streams fine, and thats using the same roughter via wireless... and the mu-so is connected via CAT5 ethernet?

Am i missing something like forwarding a port or something?
Any ideas would be appreciated

Regards

Hi Angry

I'm going to guess you use Spotify Premium.  This streams at a higher bitrate on your laptop/pc than on your phone.  Also I believe Airplay is a lower bitrate.  Thus on your laptop/pc the higher bitrate gives you better music quality but is susceptible to stuttering if your internet connection is poor.
