Connecting my Naim gear again...

Posted by: VinBob on 27 September 2015

Hello All,

I recently put my Naim gear away as I was playing with some new amplifier kit from a friend and forgot to make notes on how things were connected!

I have a NAC72, NAP140 and HICAP. Would appreciate some hand-holding here as I would like to get things reconnected for some listening before the day is out...

Here is what I am thinking:

NAC72 to HICAP - using the 5 DIN SNAIC (to socket 4 on HiCAP) - Band at the NAC72 end

HICAP to NAP140 - using the 4 DIN SNAIC (to soccet 3 on HiCAP) - Band at the HICAP end

Would appreciate confirmation on the above and do I need to use the termination plugs on any of the sockets? I assume I would need to use a terminator on the NAC72 if I was going directly to the NAP140 (not using the HICAP) to cover the socket to the HICAP correct?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Cheers,

Vin.

Spot on! No blanking plugs needed, you'd only need one on the 72 if you were powering it from the 140.

Thanks Hungryhalibut!

I am going to draw a diagram now, print and laminate it for the next time! lol
