Land Of Grey & Pink 40th Anniversary Edition

Posted by: Nick Lees on 22 April 2011

One of my favourite albums of all time gets the Steven Wilson treatment:

"To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the release of Caravan’s In The Land Of Grey And Pink, Universal is pleased to announce a special three-disc, deluxe edition of the album. The original multi-track session and album masters have been revisited by Steven Wilson (of Porcupine Tree and Blackfield) who has prepared new stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound mixes."

Having aready bought the LP, the original CD, the 2001 re-master, will I be tempted by this triple?

Yes.

Thanks to this thread I've placed my order for the album. First heard it in 1973 and although I have a good clean undamaged copy I just had to see (hear) what the fuss was about. Hope I get an odd number!

#335 is the best I've heard so far

I received my copy today. I'm more than a little diappointed as I received no.174. Do you think this even number is worth keeping or should I demand an odd number?

Sadly can't play my copy as my LP12 is having a Keel and Ekos SE fitted. Will this compensate me for the disappointment I'm experiencing?

My copy arrived today, number 014/500. It looks as though everybody is asking for the odd numbers.

Many thanks to Debs for the  link.

Guy was making a joke about the numbers.

1 or 500 would be the best ie most collectable as they are only pressing 500.
