New TV & PS3.....Advice please.

Posted by: JackRabbitSlims on 24 April 2011

Hello.

I bought a new TV (Panasonic THP50V20Z) and a Sony PS3 over the long weekend.

I needed to update my TV, plus I enjoy a bit of gaming and the BluRay player was also a plus with the PS.

Few of questions:

1) How do I get the TV audio and PS3 Audio through my Rega R7 Speakers? (NAC 122x, Nap 150x, CD5x  etc kit)

2) Can any of you AV specialists suggest other ways I can fully utilise my Naim, Panasonic & Sony trifecta??

3)Do I need to buy a separate DVD remote to use the PS DVD function, or will the game controller double as that function also?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions offered.

I have a PS3 also, and the games controller will double as a remote for playing DVD's and Blu Rays, although the dedicated remote is better, it is not essential.

I use a scart to phono connector to connect the ps3 to the analogue inputs of my HIFI, the tv is connected using HDMI.

Cheapest way is just to connect your PS3 to the TV and use a 2 PHONO to DIN lead from the TV's audio out sockets (I assume it has them) into your Naim preamp.  That's the way I use my PS2 and Wii.  Probably not the best as regards sound qualtiy, but adequate for most purposes.  Also has the advantage that you only have to remember one input on your 122!
