Ha!

I'll let you know what happens.

What's Kate's dress like James?

Everyone's too busy sorting Dudi's problems in HIFI Corner.

My amps are buzzing with excitement.

I'm avoiding the Royal Wedding.  LIke all these affaris, goes on for far too long and would exceed my boredom threshold.

Surprised TB and GB weren't invited.  Personally can't stand either of them, but they ought to have been there.

Well, me and Mrs D are enjoying every minute on TV. And we'll be having a street BBQ later today.

I'm on standby today, and really hope I don't get called out, its marvellous. You can really see that thousands of people are enjoying themselves in London.

Up the hill from me, at Bucklebury, hundreds of local people are also enjoying themselves.

I hope the Monarchy continues for a long time, and I'm sure it will evolve to retain its popularity.

Cheers

Like it or not, England is, for better or worse, what it is today due to the Monarchy.

Even though I'm a NZ Republican, I wish I were in London right now soaking up the vibes.

In which case, you missed some fabulous music in a stunning acoustic sung by one of the best choirs in the country. Played through a Naim system, natch.

+1   ----    fabulous music in a stunning acoustic sung by one of the best choirs in the country.

I'm not into the wedding as such - pretended to be underwhelmed with terminal boredom & acute lack of interest,  just to keep up appearances & expectations - as you must.

But I managed (finally) to get an my new super flexible optical cable thru from the TV to the SN & apart from the commentary talk overs,  the music was fabulous.

I am not a fan of the monarchy,  but you have to give it to the way we do this kind of thing in UK.

OK it might seem to be a little out of date toy soldier stuff,  but no other country comes close to a UK event like this.  Don't know what it is,  its not just the spectacle & splendour, its the know-how of doing it right but with the right degree of understatement & decorum.

But now its all over,  lets just get back to normal.  -  ( I wish )

The wedding was quite excellent. Someone asked about TB and GB - I don't know about the latter but Cherie is an outright Republican - she paid scant respect when Tony was PM - so frankly her appearance would have been too much imo. Incidentally nothing wrong with being a Republican but you can't really have it both ways.

Bet no one told her she'd have to go to Carrickfergus. Poor girl.

Just got back from vacation in time to watch the highlights with the wife. Very beautifully done, I wish them all the best.

The horse-drawn carriage, the Aston Convertible, Westminster Palace and Abbey, the Queen, you name it. With all the crap in the world it's nice to see the class and civility that is England. And really, still the best country in the world for stereo, IMO.

Let's people dream so they forget they are hungry.

If you're British you should be proud.....very proud. To say that the high definition feed was stunning is understating the case. The event was brilliant. How you feel about your monarchy is your business but nowhere else in the world could they do or could you see what you saw today. And if your heart is not touched by an obviously happy couple and 2,000 people singing "Jerusalem" you are beyond hope.

Except for Elton John and David Beckham, who seemed never to have heard it before!

I was busy in the house and thought I was not bothered but I was sucked in and actually loved it. Great music, great sense of occasion. .

Some of the hushed reverential BBC commentary was laughable mind you, I did spot a few moments of unitentional humour that made me chuckle too, such as the page leaping into action to hold open the door for the Queen as she got out of her Bentley only to see her get out the other side.

Not sure what you're getting at here Manu, so I might have misunderstood.

But I don't think hi-end hifi and poverty sit too well side-by-side

Yeah I saw that too, give him credit though, he stayed there holding it even after she was walking up the carpet and didn't slam it in frustration and key it afterwards
