Not possible but dead simple to batch convert your alacs to aiffs! Only downside is they take up about a third more storage space but if you are thinking of an ndx you will want to consider a nas for storage.

Thanks Rich. Do you know if ndac can read aiffs from usb sticks? Or from iPods, for that matter?

No, only WAV & FLAC from USB for now.

Actually... possible, by installing a UPnP server on your computer that does transcoding from ALAC to WAV.
If you use Mac OS X, EyeConnect by Elgato will do the trick. It's free for audio-only use (after the 30 day full trial it will go into audio-only mode). Installed as-is without any setup, it is ready to stream to a Naim UPnP device from your iTunes library.
If you use Windows, I'm not as familiar with the UPnP servers with transcoders available, but I'm sure others can chime in. A forum search along those lines may help, as I'm sure they've been mentioned before.
