HiFace and BNC

Posted by: JBGood on 01 May 2011

I will soon be experimenting with a HiFace USB converter.  Scored it for a good price in an Ebay auction.   Without realizing it, I purchased a HiFace with a BNC termination.  My DAC offers BNC digital input, but I have no experience with BNC.    I'm a BNC newb!

How to approach?

Thanks.

BNC is best.

Now you need a Naim DC1 BNC to BNC coax cable!

Failing that, Blue Jeans cable do a nice coax. I think using Canare cable?

Or a BNC female/female adaptor and a USB extension cable.

The NAIM DC1 BNC/BNC is a fine cable ( I have one myself) if a little expensive if you're only experimenting. Depends on the quality of your system. You can make your own cheapo cable with 75 ohm co-axial cable and a couple of male 75 ohm BNC plugs from Maplins as a starter. I made one up to use with my MacBook Pro /HiFace/nDAC for casual listening.
