Hello,
I have re-read a number of older posts, but it isn't clear to me: can I have Sats/Sub integration, on an AV2 (meaning of course speakers' setup: large/small and sub out) with analogue sources too, or just when using a dig in?
In other words, if I used an AV2 with my CD5 as source, could I benefit from sub out?
(When I had an AV2 I used a DVD5 as source in dig in, so I have never had to consider this issue).
Thanks,
Massimo

Massimo, you can do this so long as you go through the AV2's DSP - this means A-D and D-A conversion, so there will be some loss. Going direct analog means there's no digital processing and hence it's not possible. In direct mode, you can, of course have the sub connected from the DIN output as well (where the sub itself sets the crossover point), but there will be no ability to set the main speakers to small.

Richard,
thanks. Actually, it's what I suspected. It would not be a great improvement on my present setup; I thought it a good idea because I'd have 2.1 for both music and movies, Sats set to small (with perhaps minor sonic improvements), Sub setup and a Dac for future use. It might be a good buy anyway with a digital output equipped source.

Richard,
on second thought - my 4-pin DIN to 2xRCA cable connecting output 3 of the FlatCap2 to my n-Sub carries stereo information to it, while I see on the rear panel diagram of the AV2 that 4-pin DIN sub out has only one pin connected for Sub signal, the other carrying center; does it mean that the signal for the Sub is mono, and therefore the only difference with the LFE sub out is that no parameter is already set? In this case, is it correct that to keep my existing cable when using an AV2 (and avoid sending the center channel signal to the Sub) I'd have to disconnect the right-positioned pin? Or would it be better to also jointly solder both wires to the >sub< pin?
Sorry for the complicated question (it is not always easy, in another language), and thanks for your support.
