Good afternoon all ,I have an Unitiqute2 , Nap 100 and Keff LS50s , the speaker cable currently is chord ley line 2 , I am taking it to my dealer next week for the Tidal update , is it worth me upgrading my cables to NACA5 ? I love a bit of upgrading but some advice would be great take care Paul

NACA5 is good value and lots available second hand, also people rave about Tellurium Q Black, but its not cheap.

The Chord Leyline is a bit skinny at 1.3mm/2,  so I would guess most other cables would be better.

Don't go mad, TQ Black is nice,  but a 5m pair is over half the price of your speakers.  I would consider the TQ Blue variants as a possible alternative.

NACA5 is a good cable & for a Naim system we all know you can't go wrong.  Problem is its very stiff & needs to be worked on with a hair dryer if you want it to lay & stay neat & tidy.  Re tidy - Chord make very well behaved cables with their non-screened models,  I've got Odyssey & it bends & stays in place as good as any cable,  & Odyssey or its baby brother Rumour is another suggestion.

I had the same system as you at one point buut with different speakers and I also originally used Ley line 2.  I can confidentally state that you will hear an improvement moving from the Ley Line.  I went to Chord Oddysey which was much much better and then TQ Black which is fantastic.

thanks everybody , my dealer is advising the NACA5 or to save money chord rumour 2 , looking like the leyline was very budget cable so any upgrade will be a huge improvement !!! anybody used the chord rumour 2 ? take care Paul

I used Chord Rumour 2 but not on a Nap100.  Compared to the Ley Line it gave more scale and detail and improved bass.  The Oddysey was much better but, as you say, it will give a improvement over your Ley line.

Hi if i go for the NACA5 then i only need 2m each side , do i really need to spend the extra £90 on the extra 3m that naim suggest ?

take care

You should really go for the recommended minimum 3.5m. Your dealer will probably lend you some to try at home.

Agree with ChrisSU. Minimum recommended is 3.5. Not knowing that I started with 1m, then moved to 3.5. To my surprise there was a discernible improvement in sound, which I hadn't expected. Then subsequently I was forced by room rearrangement to go to 5m. Further improvement to my and my wife's ears, again unexpected. A nice side benefit in my opinion. Next change for me though is probably to follow in HungryHalibuts foot steps!

Agree with ChrisSU and Timbo39 - 3.5m runs of  NAC A5 is the way forward.

Try Chord Odyssey MK11

Hi. I just had UQ2 with Nap100 on home dem last week. Also demo'd in shop. I much prefered Rumour 2 to Naca 5. I'm gonna trial Anticables as well, but if they're a no-go, I'll be getting Chord Rumour. It has great scale, highs are never harsh but detailed, and bass is pretty good as well (ony some bad modes in my room). It is also very musical sounding. Speakers were Focal Aria 906. Try to audition the Naca5 as well though, maybe you'll like it.  Hope this helps.

Hi, can you kindly recommend a length for the chord or TQ? Don't need more than 1.5m for each but too short doesn't seem to be recommended in general? Thanks in advance
