A lot of similar responses to similar questions get posted here. A list of stock responses, referred to by number, would save a lot of typing:

#1 That topic has been covered pretty often. You should do a search. Why didn't you do a search?

#2 You should get a home demonstration of that expensive box before you spend that much money.

#3 Chill already. Buy some music. Enjoy what you just bought instead of hankering after the next upgrade.

#4 The 72 is better than everything this side of a 552.

#5 The 282 trounces the 252.

#6 The 252 trounces the 282.

#7 I thought I was going to die alone and unloved until I got a DR for my _______.

#8 The Naim _____ is miles better than the Linn _____.

#9 Remasters are the droppings of Satan.

#10 These jokes are awful, just awful! I've half a mind to read something else!

You get the idea. Feel free to contribute.

#109: xxx blows yyy out of the water.

#113 Vinyl rules. CDs lack soul

#114 Since I started streaming, I haven't looked back. My CD collection is gathering dust.

#115 I enjoy walking to the cupboard and finding a CD, walking back to the system. Would grow even fatter without the exercise.

#116 Having trouble since the latest firmware update, so tried my old CD player which is gathering dust (see 114). A miracle! CD rules. And it is so easy!

#117 You should up / downgrade to a <insert player of choice>. You'll never look back!

#118 I now have a sonos. Sure, it sounds crap, but it's convenient. I'll never look back

#119 Now added an old record player. Wow!

-> back to 113.

#127:   It's all about the music [implication is that if you are an audiophile or have an interest in hi-fi, equipment, or sound quality you are then disqualified from understanding the music ]

#128:   PRAT [...it has none or "I could not stop my toes from tapping"]

#129:   Bach NOT on the Pianoforte or Bach would not like that or ....

Similar to 127 and often preceded and followed by the same member getting involved in countless technical discussions on the merits of this that and the other.

#131 surely it should be possible to do over the air firmware upgrades, my £30 sanyo can do that

Posted on: 14 October 2015 by nigelb

# 132 The (insert power supply model) takes the (insert source or pre amp model) to a whole new level.

# 133 The DR upgrade to (insert above power supply or classic power amp model) makes the non DR version sound broken.

Posted on: 14 October 2015 by Jan-Erik Nordoen

# 134 : Discussions of how music makes you feel will be dealt with severely.

Posted on: 14 October 2015 by nigelb

Jan-Erik, it's to do with the emotionally repressed English.

I think you said you are half English (could be wrong) so you (half) know where I am coming from.

Sorry, l'm listening to my favourite album at the moment and need to grab a hanky.

Yours, emotional of Chesham.
