I remember when gangs of teenagers could do serious damage to each other, Punks vs Teds, Mods & Rockers. The local environment would get trashed too.
Also the Skinheads vs Rockers, Punks or just about anyone including Ozzy Osbourne who might have been inspired to write "Fairies Wear Boots" after a skinhead incident but this was later denied. Things may have been more chaotic back then but the youth now are still armed and dangerous. There will be numerous stories of youth being slain on a weekly basis which is not nice. The home city of Linn audio (Glasgow) was once the murder capital of Europe until Paris took the title. Read the book 'Cockney Reject' by Jeff Stinky Turner to give an insight of those times of Punks versus everyone, the infamous 'battle of Birmingham' and how punk got unfairly caught up with National front movements. There is a foreword by Morrissey (of The Smiths, not the one from Men Behaving Badly) and The Rejects are still playing gigs around the world for punk revivals. There is a movie too, East End Babylon which I haven't seen yet but may be a bit more rockumentary unlike Quadrophenia
