Nait XS Amplifier volume control

Advise please , I have noticed for a while that the volume control makes a noise when around to increase the sound from silent and then goes away. The noise is there when both the remote and manual methods are used to increase the volume. I can only liken the noise to that that the tumblers in a safe make when turned.

Could this become an issue?

Charles, the volume control uses a motorised pot.  Is this the noise, or is it something more?  If more then first check that the knob hasn't been pushed slightly to far in and is rubbing on the fascia panel.  Pulling the knob back off the panel ever so slightly should cure this.  If you are still getting an unusual noise then it may just be the LED wiring moving inside the knob itself.  Best not to worry about this unless it begins to bind on the shaft and prevent movement. It's very rare that this happens because the cabling is carefully dressed around the shaft when the amp is built.

Is the sound coming from the speakers or from the volume control itself?

I had sound from the speakers and had to get a repair to resolve

Richard, Thanks for the tip about the knob being pushed in to far, that is just what it was. I've eased it out and all I hear now is noise from the motorised pot.

Thanks again for the "quick fix".
