My understanding is that the DR element of the 200 relates solely to powering a preamp. So if not used direct in this manner (e.g. 202 + 200) there's no benefit. Conversely, '250 DR' by definition has the DR element in play in the power amp section.
As whether a 200 or a 250 is 'better' is a matter of personal taste. Depends on room, speakers etc.
My personal choice from about 6/7 years ago was the 250. That was pre-DR, of course. So, now, even more so, maybe....(Others here think the opposite).
many thanks for feedback- what has a more "laid back" sound? 200 or 250?
my speaker doesn't need much power, i'm running them for fun with a NAIM 2 CB ;-)

I don't think anyone would describe the 250 as laid back!
Have you listened to the Supernait 2 by the way? It's jolly good.
driving a foca sopra 2, the lady is very sensitive (gues 90db)
which 250.

the 250.2
the 250 DR?
250.2, not DR... i think the 250DR beats the 200..
If I wanted to drive Focal Sopra 2, then I would use a NAP300DR.
if it was too expensive, then I would try both a 300DR and a 250DR to see if I could live with the 250DR.
For the Sopra 2, I would not go below a 250DR. The 200 is far below a 250DR, much more affordable though.
Hope this helps, FT
Foot tapper,
many thanks for this tip, a 300 is out of my scope ...a 250DR could be possible in a few months (hope so:-))
