Nap 100

How many people here use NAP 100 with system other than the DAC V1 or UQ?

I'm also interested. Also are there users with UQ2 plus DAC V1 plus NAP100 or maybe NAP200?

UQ2 Dac V1 Nap 100 and Allae. The 24/96 upsampling is on and gives a little more airy soundstage!

What did the DAC V1 bring more then just the Qute on his own?

More airy and better bigger soundstage with a little more controlled low end. But you will need a bnc to bnc cable and not use the rca things that comes with your quote. Probably a Dc1 cable is best I use a supra cable for now.. I've tried Mac mini (optimized with amarra) but I prefers my qute even with MP3 against flac on Mac mini.

I have the same setup (UQ1 to V1) and I will second that it brings a bigger soundstage, more airiness,  less grain and harshness at higher volumes. I use a bnc to bnc Atlas Opus cable and it brought more to the game than the Chord Prodac my dealer first recommended. Redundancy, yes, but having bought all second hand still less than a new SU, and I can always use the UQ or V1 later in a separate room if need be. Haven't tried up sampling though.

No, you need a DLNA compliant streamer to play from a NAS. The V1 is not that.

And what if i use the UQ as streamer?

That's exactly what the UQ is (along with an amp and preamp). Just use the digital BNC out and turn off the other inputs and outputs in the menu you're not using for the best SQ.

JonR is using a NAP 100 with a 272 to excellent effect I understand.

I will arrange some demo with a NAP100 soon. But i wonder if a DAC V1 will take my set to a next level. Or will a trade in for a NAC 172 do more? I really like the shoe box style component.

The logical thing to do would be to add a 155 to the Qute, and then swap the Qute for a 172. Adding a V1 and a 100 brings too much redundancy. Do you really want two preamps, two DACs, two power amps?

Okay i never thought about that. Thanks HH.

Alternatively, if your pockets are deeper, you could add a 200 (or 250) and then swap the Qute for a 272, but I suspect that may be taking things too far!

HH. One thing at a time.

Exactly so. I was simply pointing out options to you. Only go as far as you want to. One thing though - you can get a used 200 for less than a new 155, and later use a 172 with that. This combination seems quite popular.

Okay HH. Always good to hear your advice and opinions
