Finding & storing new internet radio stations.

Posted by: Ash3357 on 18 October 2015

I would like to listen to Organ live at 320 on my uniti. The app on my ipad finds the US version which sounds great then buffers constantly & when I e-mailed the radio station they sent me the URL for a european server. I have added this station on http://myradio.naimaudio.com/ but still no joy. I log into http://myradio.naimaudio.com/ using my e-mail & password, but then the MAC ID box dissapears & I presume I need to use this to access it via my uniti. I'm new to this & lost as you can see, can anyone tell me what I need to do please?

With Naim iRadio (vTuner) you need to find the station & then touch the star near the bottom of the screen to store as a pre-set

OK you need to find it first

Go to iPad Naim app

- iRadio > Location > North America > USA > Missouri > All Stations ...

... scroll down to OrganLive

Its MP3 44.1kHz @ 320kbs

Buffer is 100% & steady on my NDX

Playing Jean-Guy Produlx - Widor op.13 at mo..

If you are still buffering,  are you connecting via wireless ???

Can you see the station you added under the My Added Station section in the web interface? If you can see it there it's added. Sometimes it takes a few moments before it can be seen in the Uniti. Do you use Naim app to control your device? The station should appear under Added Stations menu.

If you like you can share the URL they gave you and I can try to add it to see if it works.

Mike, I think he wants to add a new station (a different version which is not currently available) and is having problems on doing that. But I agree the version which can be found under the menu item you pointed above plays just fine (in my case wirelessly).

The OP said   "Organ live at 320"  that's what I show the links to

I'm on to the US Missouri home base, but unlike Ash3357 I'm not having buffering issues so have no need to find the EU server.

Ash,  do you know where the EU server is located ?? it might be easier to find it via vTuner that way

He has got a new URL address which he likes to add by using the web interface. I assume it's not necessarily  included in vTuner database.

I understand that Osprey,  but wonder why.

I listen to numbers of stations on a regular basis from US, southern Africa & Far East  & don't have issues with buffering.  I'm not sure having a closer server is the answer.

I understand what you saying but if he has another URL it doesn't hurt to try does it. I sometimes have experienced that buffering issue but it might be due to the fact that I use wireless connection. Occasionally also reconnecting to the station cures the problem.

I know not very popular method around here but one of the reasons I bought the Uniti was that a wireless connection was promised to be working fine (and it mostly does). For serious listening where the SQ matters there is vinyl

Thanks everyone for replying. I know about the star thanks & I use a wired connection too. I had the same problem last year & organ Live advised me to use euro server as I am in UK somehow I got it to work but since a recent upgrade I lost my favourite stations. Organ live sent me this URL http://play2.organlive.com:7000/320 & I have added it, but can't access it on uniti using my Ipad or remote. I don't know where the server is located, just the URL.

When you have added the station can you see it under My Added Stations section as shown below?

If you see it in the web interface then it should appear under Added Stations in your Naim app.

I tried the URL you gave I got it working, see below (great music by the way).

Bingo!

Thanks to everyone who helped out. I had to add an otherwise unlisted station & now I am on the euro server ( wherever that may be) it sounds great with no more buffering.

Osprey, I hadn't realised I had to go into "added stations" to access my new station but you got my gist right away & I am tempted to elevate you to the level of omni-present deity, but as a real osprey slashed the seats on my Bayliner cruiser this year, perhaps "Hi-Fi Hero" will have to suffice for now.

Thanks a lot everyone.

Great that you got it working – enjoy the music.

INteresting.  I have had a similar problem since a year ago.  If I find and add a new station using the web interface it will not show in the Added Statins list on my ND5.

I have tried everything from refreshing account to creating new account, exchanged a number of emails with the iRadio support and have had no success - new stations would not show up in the Added Stations list.  So I've given up ...

Before, with Uniti, this worked well, but with ND5 - nada (:

Did you gave the MAC address of ND5 when you created  the new account?
Posted on: 21 October 2015 by dzambolaja

Yes I did.  And I went over the process twice, together with the tech support, and still no luck.  If I add a station via app it still does not show on ND5.

It looks like my ND5 does not broadcast its MAC over the net to the iRadio server

Or...., it gets filtered out at the receiving end domain, perhaps???

Just out of curiosity ... Is is possible to add otherwise by Naim unknown internet radio stations to the Mu-so as well? I know I can add a URL for an internet radio to the MinimServer, but I have not seen a web user interface similar to the one above ....

Many thanks
