On An Island viny release

Has anyone had a chance to listen to the new release of "On An Island" from Mr Gilmore on vinyl? Just wondering how it compares to the CD.

Thanks

Graham,

I just cleaned and gave a first listen to the OAI reissue vinyl. It is a quality pressing - heavy, flat and quiet. Nice gatefold jacket with a heavy graphic inner sleeve and poster. Who does posters any more? Forty years ago I'd have hung it on my bedroom wall .

The soundstage is very good; tall and wide, though perhaps not quite as enveloping as my LP pressings of "David Gilmour" and "About Face" which are both exceptional. I don't have the OAI CD for comparison, but am satisfied with my purchase.

Graham,

i got a copy at the weekend. Like Joe, I cleaned first, also put the disc into a good quality inner sleeve, in addition to the stiff paper one provided - I did wonder why they don't give a good sleeve rather than the poster. Poster would have been fine in my bedroom 40 years ago, but not sure would go well sharing space with some of Dylan's drawn blank series in my living room now. I  struggled with the CD, never really enjoying,  but the vinyl to me is much more mellow, and I really enjoyed all tracks.
