Hello everybody, a humble question from a humble UQ2 owner.
Has anybody tried or heard the UQ partnered with a NAP 200? I’ve got the opportunity to buy a (2013) second-hand NAP 200 for half price but unfortunately I can’t audition the 200 at home.
I did try my UQ with a NAP 100 at home and was not completely impressed. Okay there maybe was a wee bit more grunt and a touch better imaging but the NAP 100 simply added to little. And at the same time it felt like the Qute was a bit sad. That I did not appreciate what the wee Qute could accomplice on its own. It was like it robbed the sound of some excitement. It is hard to explain.
But now this opportunity of getting a NAP 200 pops up so I was wondering if anybody has any experience and/or advise. Would it be a nice ‘step-up/ worth it’?
My UQ is driving a pair Audio Physics Classic 10 speakers. Nominal impedance: 4 Ohm, sensitivity: 89dB.
Thanks everybody
Flo

although i haven't quite been the fan of the old 200 (non-DR), i think that the 200, either old and new, is an upgrade for all integrateds and all in one's...
also, i know Audio Physic speakers and although they are refined, they lack punch, and are a bit lazy, so i think that a 200 will be actually THE way to go with them, cause the 200 has the sparkliness that will bring the Physics to life.
take care if it was serviced if it is too old, though... you can ask at Naim after get the serial number.
good luck!

OP looking at a 2013 model Cat so servicing etc. not an issue. I also have nominal impedance 4 Ohm speakers and going from a 50w nap 150 to a 80w supernait really helped, although much will depend on your listening volumes / room size etc. I would think your speakers would benefit from a 200 over Qute on power alone but no experience of qute/200 directly re. other sq differences.

Thanks Catalin, good advice, much appreciated.
Aye I will definitely ask for a serial number and check with NAIM. In the advert is saying it is from 2013 but as you say, better check

sorry, i haven't observed that you said 2013 model... anyway, better ask the SN to check with Naim for possible history, nonetheless. and to see if it is actually from 2013 manufacture year. there is a section on Naim site with SN's and MY... if it really is what it says and it had no issues then you woun't have to worry about servicing, at least for almost 10 years or so...but probably by then, you would be thinking (hopefully) at 300 or 500
