Superuniti Display

Posted by: Xenasys on 09 November 2015

Hi after the recent upgrade of firmware I have noticed that my display seems pixelated the upgrade failed

and I recovered it and it updated so functionality wise everything is fine. Does the firmware also affect the display?

Just sent my UQ to Class A to have the screen replaced, screen did seem to fail just after firmware 4.3 (not bothered with 4.4), very dim and missing pixels.

Perhaps the upgrade includes a self destruct mechanism, activated by the playing of Beyoncé records.

I keep my display set to off after 30secs, and the logo permanently off. This gives an SQ boost raising it to the level of 272/250 and increases the life of the display. I would doubt the update would affect the display in any way, most likely coincidence.

You might get a lift with the 272 to NDS level by covering the display with gaffer tape, so all is not lost!

I find that now that the SU clock is actually telling the right time, my satisfaction with the sound has increased by the equivalent of two hardware upgrades.

Using the remote control, hit the spanner button and step down to display option, 'ok' it and there should be some sub-options which include toggling the abovementioned options (and muting from the badge if memory serves). The pdf for user manual can be downloaded from the Naim streamer product page.

Cheers, I am not a reading the manual kind of guy, probably why I have technical issues from time to time!

Appreciate your response, will give it a go

cheers

The dodgy display is obviously a known thing - the display in my UQ2 is starting to go as well, with pixels missing all over the place. I presume it's the same part.

But Class A have told me that they can replace it so I'm not too concerned.
