Probably a really stupid question

Well after a weekend of trying various stuff FINALLY got my Synology NAS backing up my Unitiserve, however the only "share" location I could find that the US liked is called Videos...........not too much of a problem, but really would like to change the name.

Now is as simple as going into the NAS right clicking the folder and selecting RENAME????  Or would that mess up absolutely everything.

Any tips for the most basic and safest way to rename without running the risk of messing up my backup??

Any help appreciated

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY. Renamed rebooted everything.  Not possible to backup now.

Ok so created new share on Synology 214.  I can see the share on unitiserve web page its green but not appearing on the add new backup screen.

I flipping well give up, why is it SO DAMN DIFFICULT!!!!!!!! (yes the folder is empty, yes the access is set and the admin password etc is entered.  Yes the media server and everything blooming well else is turned off on the NAS)

Any gentle points to consider would be nice

Hi True Blue,

I struggled when I got my US back after repair earlier this year, but that nice Mr Harris at Naim Support dialled in to my PC, set things up how they should be and got me back up and running again.

I thought I should have been able to do it as I had done it once before (although it was several years ago!) but my brain just couldnt fathom it.

Save yourself the raised blood pressure / aggravation and drop an e mail to Naim Support for assistance, Im sure they will be pleased to help and will be able to set it up in a jiff for you.

Chris, its just soooooooo frustrating.  Im quite technical so stuff like this just really really bugs me.

Im away for a week at work so will drop NAIM a line on my return.  Thing is the shares can be "seen" they can be used as music directories but NOT as backup destinations (grrrrrrrr) yet the folder WITH THINGS IN that I don't want to use CAN be used as backup directories.

Bloody annoying

MWAHAHAHAHA.  Went into DTC found everything I could use was "NOT ACTIVE" and the shares I wanted to use were "ACTIVE".  So deactivated one of the shares and TADA use as backup location.  Backup running.

Why oh why did this happen????????

Well done True Blue, sounds like a cue to go and get a well earned cuppa, or indeed something stronger!
