Classical music catalogue of online streaming services

Does Quobuz still offer the best classical catalogue? I'm finding Apple's Music rather limited here and have found similar comments regarding Tidal and Spotify. Sound quality is obviously also an issue, but if it's not there, you can't listen to it at all....

Yes, probably. I'm taking a break from Qobuz to enjoy Tidal integration, but Qobuz has a larger catalogue, gapless, and often access to CD booklet info. They remain the best choice for the classical listener.

Qobuz is just wonderful. I don't have enough lifetimes to enjoy and explore it's treasures. Silly cheap. And it's not only the catalogue, it's that you get shown stuff and can discover stuff easily, the news is good, there's often the cd booklet and libretto .. just sign up!

Yes Qobuz is by and far the most comprehensive for classical, and even has a classical only membership. However for casual classical discovery I find Tidal ok, you just need to master it's search engine.. as you often find recordings lurking there that weren't immediately obvious.

Qobuz not for much longer unfortunately. From lefigaro "Musique : Qobuz en redressement judiciaire"

Qobuz "has been placed in receivership by the Commercial Court of Paris Monday, November 9, 2015, after an observation period beginning August 19, 2014" announced its founder Yves Riesel in a statement.

They have until the 16th to find a new investor, otherwise it looks as though the game's up. It would be such a shame as I get nearly all my downloads from them.

Perhaps Focal/Naim should buy the operation!

that is a shame.. if it goes into receivership it will be interesting to see if its customer base will be sold off to another service provider by the receivers - and if so to whom

This is not good, very disappointing news.  Better work out how to extract my playlists from them somehow.

It was fun while it lasted.

Thanks for everyone who chimed in her. Trust me to get interested in Quobuz just as they go down the tube....
