Naim website language selection

Posted by: hafler3o on 16 November 2015

Does anyone know how to select a language on the Naim website? Whenever I look it is in French but as quite a few sub-articles are appearing in English (maybe no-one has got round to translating them yet, or it's a bug?) I'd rather browse the website in the single language of my choice, rather than be subjected to a hodge-podge of different language articles.

Location services are turned off on my iPadMini.

Oops should not be in Streaming, sorry Richard, can you move this to whinger's corner?

Top right hand corner of the home page - there is language selection.

I've noticed this before, when showing the website to a French friend, every so often a section of English turns up.

Not for me I'm afraid.

A 3 line square in the top right gives the following (sort of drop down effect)

Produits

Notre Histoire

Distributeurs

Support

Naim Label

Naim for Bentley

Connection

Contact

none of these show an option for changing the language, whete should it be found?

I'm looking at it on my Apple MBP.  Maybe it's different on an iPad.  I'll try it out and see.

OK, yes, I see it is slightly different on an iPad.  There's no language selection in the top right corner of the page.

I've had a response from Naim's website developer.  He says that the language choice is currently disabled for small devices - it's automatic depending on your location when you access the website home page.  So if you're in France it then stores a cookie to tell the pages to always be shown in French.

He will work on adding some kind of manual control for small devices.  In the meantime, there's a little work-around that involves clearing the cookies so it defaults to English pages.  However, there's a caveat - you can't visit the homepage as this is where the language is set depending on where you are.  So try going directly to say, https://www.naimaudio.com/products

Good luck and let me know how it goes...

Ok Richard thanks for looking into this, I'm sure it was coming up in English at one point but then I must have cleared cache/cookies just prior to viewing.

For what it's worth the site layout looks good on the iPadMini, just some strange 'mash' of language going on I was trying to avoid, cheers.
